Open Data API

The Aso Rock Index Open Data API. Five static JSON endpoints exposing every dataset on this site, governance, GDP, debt, and election data from 1996 to the present, under a Creative Commons attribution licence. No keys, no rate limits, CORS-friendly. Built for journalists, researchers, and civic-tech projects.

All endpoints are released under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). You may share, adapt, and use commercially, including for journalism. We just ask for a credit.

Stability & updates

  • URLs and field names are stable. We only make additive changes; breaking changes will move to /api/v2/.
  • Endpoints regenerate on every Netlify deploy from the same source data as the rest of the site.
  • Underlying data refreshes on its own cadence; check /api/version.json for the last build time.
